ALN: Alaska Library Network

Who We Are

Unlike many other states, Alaska libraries have a tradition of informal collaborative activities between themselves. When libraries worked together, their projects were said to come from the Alaska Library Network. After more than 30 years of these collaborations, a formal organization was found to be necessary to provide coordination of the large number of existing programs and services as well as explore new ones.

In 2007, the Alaska Library Network took its first steps towards becoming a formal entity and after two busy years, is now a recognized non-profit and tax exempt organization.

The Alaska Library Network is supported in whole or in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Alaska State Library.
