There has been a great deal of activity with the organization of ALN over the last few months. Since August, Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws have been written and approved, an Interim Board of Directors has formed and met for the first time and the incorporation application has been filed. The Alaska Library Network, a 30+ year informal collaboration between libraries, is becoming a real, live, formal organization! Draft articles of incorporation and by-laws have been written and AkLA will be sponsoring a grant to help ALN pay for legal and filing fees for incorporation. Efforts are underway to have the filing process completed by the end of 2007. (more…)
