2011 DIGITAL PIPELINE TRAINING and OUTREACH GRANT PROGRAM

PHASE I

Do you believe the Digital Pipeline is a fantastic source of unique yet underutilized information?

Do you wish more parents in your community knew about Live Homework Help?

Do you want your library to be more active in helping patrons and users with their educational and career goals?

If so, the Alaska Library Network (ALN) is pleased to introduce a grant program to help you with your goals. ALN is seeking creative grant proposals to promote the use of Digital Pipeline program http://sled.alaska.edu/databases/home.html to Alaskans. Priority will be given to proposals specifically targeting Live Homework Help (Tutor.com) or the Testing and Education Resource Testing Center (TERC) to students, parents and educators. ALN invites Alaskan libraries to apply for funds to present training sessions and conduct outreach activities that promote understanding and use of Digital Pipeline resources within their communities and institutions.

Eligible grant funds will pay for workshop expenses or outreach activities up to $5000 including:

  • Workshop development
  • Workshop materials preparation or acquisition
  • Trainer fees, travel and expenses
  • Participant travel and expenses
  • Workshop supplies and delivery expenses
  • Promotional activities and publicity expenses

Guidelines

Grantee libraries must be paid members of Alaska Library Network. Please join or renew for eligibility.

Grant proposals may be submitted to promote the use of the Digital Pipeline resources in general or specifically target Live Homework Help (Tutor.com) or the Testing and Education Resource Testing Center (TERC) or any combination hereof.

Grant proposals must be received by June 30, 2011 for consideration under Phase I. ALN will respond within two weeks of receipt of the application regarding acceptance of the grant or to request additional information or grant modification as necessary.

Grant activities must be completed by December 31, 2011.

ALN reserves the right to limit the number of grants awarded to a member library depending on the amount of grant funds requested.

Grantee libraries may not charge for training or outreach activities.
